Back to Reality

I unfortunately am back to reality. My great little fantasy life is over. I cannot adequately say how much I enjoyed playing with Rock and Ryker. Here is Ryker channeling the England pose.
I love watching his feet. I miss him climbing on my lap and watching real good videos - of himself on my blog and on his dad's. It helped ease a lot of missing mommy and daddy.
It was hard to get two boys to slow down, but I loved the idea of capturing the brothers' hands. One hand would come to get me and lead me to wonderful adventures. The other would wrap around my finger enduring the many kisses that would come its way.

Rock loves his brother. Sometimes a little too much. I love these little guys. I appreciate their great parents who are teaching them great principles. I am grateful that they have had great support in DeAndra's family. They have been amazing.

I'm back to school tomorrow, but part of my heart is with two adorable little boys (and their wonderful mommy and daddy.)

Ryker Comes Home

Ryker got to come home today.  He didn't think it was all that exciting, but Rock loved having his mommy home.
He's been wide eyed then sound asleep.  DeAndra says this is the total opposite of raring to go all the time Rock.
He is very kissable.
Rock thought so.
Then he enjoyed some loving from his mommy.
Life is good now that baby Ryker and Mommy are where they need to be.

For Those People Who Keep Bugging Me About Pictures

Rock and I enjoyed a day at home.  He had been coughing quite a bit so we got the humidifier out, a little medicine and magic happened overnight.  He slept 7 hours straight and a cough was not to be heard.
He's always entertaining and I have sure loved the one on one time I've had with him.
He's emptied my purse twice and I hope I get home with everything I've brought.
Ryker up close and personal.  So soft and so cute.
He and his mommy will hopefully come home tomorrow. That will make Rock happy.
The next few are me attempting to get a picture of mom and the two boys per Aaron's request.  Some of the subjects just didn't want to help.
So Aaron that is the best I could do.  You would think Rock would know what to do when  a camera is aimed his way.

Rock and Ryker?

Still not sure on the baby's name.  I held him for about 7 hours.  It was nice.  Rock did well until he woke up and couldn't find his bampa. (Grandpa)
Rock's entertainment was his new pair of gloves.  He loved them.  He wasn't too excited when the nurse came in and grabbed a pair.  He thought she was using his gloves.  Derrick set him straight and showed him where his gloves were.
One day old.  Eyes wide open.  Such a cutie!
By the time I leave I will learn to swaddle the baby, but aren't they so cute peeking out?

The New Little England

The day finally arrived.  The cute parents once again produced one cute little boy.  Rock wasn't so sure about everything at first, but he soon warmed up and enjoyed being a big brother.
We waited a bit in the waiting room.  Rock was the center of attention.  He grabbed his Great Grandma Jean's hand and had her sit on the little chair next to him.

He's a beautiful little boy.  7 lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long.  DeAndra and Aaron say he looks like Rock, but has already slept more than Rock did in the first month.
After his bath on the warming bed.
During the bath.  I guess I could have switched those.
Getting ready for bath.  Okay so they are all switched.  Come to the bottom and scroll up and they will be in order.

Not sure of the name, but possibly Ryker.  It was grandma approved.

Heaven is where babies are.  There is nothing so beautiful as seeing someone so newly come into the world.  I'm so grateful I have had this chance to help out with Rock and be there to hold such a soft, sweet-smelling bundle of goodness.

Dale couldn't sleep last night and decided it was because he needed to be in Oregon.  So he jumped in the pickup and surprised us this morning.  It's been great to have him here.  It feels right.
More pictures to come.
And yes I know I sound sappy, but my words just can't adequately express the feelings I have.

Rock Putting on His Shoes

Rock is so much fun to watch as he puts his shoes and socks on. I enjoy watching this two year old do it by himself with a little wiggle to get the foot completely in the shoe.

A Week of Pure Grammy Bliss

I'm one happy grandma.  Rock has been so much fun to be with.  We had lots of laughs
and M&M's and gummi bears.
We ran to the park at the nearby school.  I should say Rock ran, Grammy walked.  When Rock saw how far behind Grammy was getting he looked back, turned around and came back with his little hand held up for Grammy to hold.
This is the best picture I could get while still holding that precious hand.
The park had a lot of fun toys with friends who were willing to share their knowledge of the fast and slow slides with this grateful grandma.
Rock is too smart for me.  I thought I had hidden the sweet stash somewhere he couldn't find.  I came into his room with him munching on them.  Then, I also noticed that he had filled up his dump truck with them.
We'll continue having fun.  Tomorrow is baby day.  We're so excited to add another cute boy to the England clan.

Valentine's Day

Uncle Dale could not stand hearing this cute boy's cries, so he gave him what he wanted.  That's how we run things at Sunday lunch.  Now how to eat this huge soft cookie.
Mushing it into your face might wipe your nose, but all you get is frosting.
Finally the cookie has been conquered.  Such a cutie!
Dale may not think so, but I do appreciate this Valentine's gift.  This rocking chair has rocked many hours.  We got it with Aaron and all babies have spit, teethed, and cuddled while in this chair.  I thought it had been thrown away when it split apart.  It is part of our history and I'm glad we'll have it back to rock grandbabies.  Thanks Dale! (and Brian!)

Grammy x 2

In the excitement of adding grandson number two to the mix I am restyling the blog.  I am hoping for a cute pic of Rock and the new one to add soon.  The school has graciously allowed this grandma to help out during the whole process by babysitting Rock.  I am excited!!  I am also worried because worst nightmare came yesterday in the form of a cold.  It better run its course before I head down to Oregon.
