Quilting Fun!

Bonnie and I went to the Spokane Quilt Show. I didn't know these events were so expensive. How much fun it was, though, to visit about every quilt show in the state in one room. Well, actually three big rooms. This was where all my money went. Now I need more time to sew it all together!
Part of my purpose was to find some material to back a baby quilt and a larger quilt. Eventually it was all found. Do you think the brown polka dots match this wild quilt? Is it too wild for a baby quilt?

The third fun part of the day, behind visiting with Bonnie and spending money, was viewing lots and lots of quilts from other people. This one above shows a quilt I have no desire to make. Those little squares are like a quarter inch square. Who cuts those squares?

This is a picture dedicated to my children. For Nick, Whitni and Marissa, and Lindsea and Travis. See I can hold the camera out and almost get us both in the shot. Happy quilting everyone!

Stehekin Fun

It's hard to find anything to post about these days. I don't think coming home from school everyday to correct papers and sew a little creates enough excitement to write about. I did find some pictures of our trip to Stehekin I never did post. I guess once my girls stole my pictures I forgot about it. (Steal away girls!)We took Doug's boat up for the day to the end of the lake, the only way one can get there is by foot, boat or plane. We took the obligatory picture once we got there. See they can smile and pose without goofiness.Well, maybe not. Marissa claims she always is in front. The battle began. We bought some beautiful pastries from the bakery, a great place to eat! The girls all sat on the bench on the same side. Physics lesson: Can you see where I am going here? Girls were okayPastries, they didn't handle the flying as well. That didn't stop us though. The bees drove us back in the building where the girls were very careful where they sat. Stehekin greenness.

Rainbow Falls. Always worth a stop.
Again some serious posing.
You've got to love the patience of whoever climbed out there to create the design.
It was a great day spent together before all the kids left.

A fun day with good company.
