Grammy's Visit

Hi fellow bloggers, welcome to a post all about me, Rock England.
This is my mommy and daddy. They are wonderful and treat me really well.

Grammy wanted everyone to know how extremely long my eyelashes are. Yes, they are real. Mommy does not apply fake ones.

Grammy says I am the cutest little kid around. A good smile her way and I can get just about anything I want.
I was a little embarrassed having Grammy watch me in the tub, but she just can't seem to get enough of me.
Being outside is one of my favorite things to do. All I had to do was grab Grammy's shoes and she would take me outside.
Daddy joined in the fun so I showed Grammy all that daddy has taught me.
Daddy and I love playing a game of golf. I swing as fast as I can in a crazy manner. It's more fun that way.
Don't you just love being outside? I sure do.

My toes show how much fun we had outside. Grammy loves watching my toes.

I gave Grammy this beautiful picture of me. I don't want her to forget who I am.

Thanks for taking time to hear about my Grammy's visit at my house. I'm tired, but probably not as exhausted as Grammy. She tried to keep up with me, but she was too slow.

Why Go On a Cruise? Reason Number 4

The Fun!!Everyone has their own version of fun. Jim's was to run in front of me as I'm taking a picture. I guess he didn't see the telephoto lens out.For some fun is catching some Sportscenter until the time your wife who made you dress up escorts you to the formal dinner. For others it's a good party, even if you leave without cake - both times! The cake had a weird taste at this party. Party Two - No cake, we were all too full from the surprise cake at dinner.I'm assuming the cake from this party is still sitting on the table of mom and dad's deck. For many fun is teaching the fine points of the macarena.Fun is being able to hold a glacier in your hand.Fun for many is being together learning a new card game that leaves your fingers bleeding because SOME of her sisters have long fingernails. For many fun is giving people who want to take your picture a hard time. Kelsie was very accommodating.Alyssa not so accommodating.Kelsie would also imitate the wild creatures around. For some fun is taking pictures to create visual memories. I brought a new camera with lots of memory. I took this because of the peaceful nature and the beauty of blue.Fun with a camera is making many images of your favorite guy.Fun with my camera also includes finding a great picture of your dad in a group of many and being able to crop to show the handsome fellow.

Fun is a cruise on the Amsterdam!

Why Go On A Cruise? Reason Number 3

THE SIGHTS!
For us on this cruise it was Alaska. One cool thing about Alaska in the summer are the long days. This picture was taken at like 10:30 at night. It was still pretty light outside.Juneau was our first stop. We rode with Duane in a bus around the town. It was interesting to see all the sites - and much more. Mendenhall Glacier was cool, but the smoke from nearby fires made it hard to appreciate all its coolness.Juneau from the top of the tram.
My favorite sight was Hubbard Glacier. The boat pulled up parallel to the glacier with our side of the boat seeing it first. It was unbelievably incredible with the thunder sounds of the ice cracking and moving. For half an hour at least we watched the calving of the ice off the glacier. If in the future you go on a cruise that takes you to Hubbard Glacier, remember to bring gloves and hats. It was very cold. The many colors also added to the beauty of this huge chunk of ice. If I remember right it was 30 feet above the water and 60 feet below the water. Anyone who went feel free to correct me.

This is a video of the biggest calving show we were privileged to view. Please remember I am a teacher and not an employee of National Geographic. Another fun stop was Sitka. It became the shopping town (my treasured totem pole is the fourth person in this picture on the right). It also was a very special place for Sherry. Somewhere behind my mom and sisters is Ryan Reynold's home in the Proposal. At least we were quietly letting Sherry believe that.

Why Go On A Cruise? Reason Number 2

THE FOOD!It was amazing. Food served to you practically anytime you want it. Buffets, fancy dinners, dessert extravaganzas, it was quite spoiling. It was great to congregate in a common area. Most of the time we had to steal chairs, make people mad, but mostly we had a good time visiting.I really enjoyed the visiting part. The only sibling missing was my brother, Steve. He and his wife were definitely missed.

The main dining room was my favorite. We got to order dishes (four courses) I couldn't pronounce or recognize the ingredients. Many entrees, appetizers, or salads/soups were familiar only because I'd seen them on the Food Network or Top Chef. It felt very fancy. One of the last nights the servers prepared a show to go with the great meal. We all wore the exquisite chef hats, and then enjoyed being entertained and fed.Through the week we mixed and matched our dinner companions. With 27 people there are a lot of combinations you can make.
Dad is always one to get into the spirit of the event. This was the Dance of the Napkins. On one of the last nights we enjoyed the dessert extravaganza. Desserts galore everywhere. Dale just took one small snapshot of the event. Alyssa got one of the main treasures - the chocolate dragon.Yummy!

Again, I say dad is always one to get into the spirit of the meal and have fun!! Reality hits home when after having a week of exquisite meals served to you, you have to get that tortilla and put the cheese on it yourself and toast it. Not quite the same.

Why Go On A Cruise? Reason Number 1

FAMILY!
The main reason for this cruise was to celebrate 50 years of wedded bliss for mom and dad. What great people they are. Great examples and lots of fun to be with.
This is our entire group. Twenty-seven people. Aunts, uncles, parents, husband, cousins, brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and second cousins. This is my favorite picture because it captures the trip for me. Crazy and fun. My favorite man! I enjoyed watching him interact with all my family and the crew on the ship. Family also includes brothers and sisters.
Brother Rob and wife Lonna. (for some reason I never did get you together posed) They also brought their fun daughters, but I will save them for later.
Sisters. We were all together and having way too much fun.
Sister Sherry and husband Larry. An adoring couple. She always looks to him for advice before doing anything.....Sister Jenni and husband Jim. We had fun watching Jim collect those "dam" dollars and watching Jenni not trying to keep up.
Brother Blake and wife Tonya, my inspiration in shopping.

Sister Kelli and husband Steve, positive, happy and pregnant. Great combination.
